In a remote land, an old man named Lionel honed his swordsmanship alone. His goal was to reach the "strength beyond strength" he had once witnessed. However, only non-human races possessed the "Awakening" necessary to oppose the "Demon God" that was corrupting the world. Even so, he continued to believe that he would one day... for decades. Then, his village was attacked by agents of the Demon God! He fought desperately, but his body could no longer withstand such fierce battle.
